Terms and Conditions of Hire

  1. The Hirer hereby acknowledges receipt of the hired equipment in clean complete undamaged condition and in good safe working order and agrees to hire it on the following term.
  2. As essential terms of this Hire Contract, the Hirer agrees:
    a. To return the fired equipment to the Owner at 151 Alford Forest Road, Ashburton, clean complete and undamaged.
    b. At all times, until returned in accordance with (a) about, to keep it protected from adverse elements and conditions.
    c. To meet the cost of all repairs and cleaning required to the hired equipment on its return (cleaning at $70 per hour and repairs at actual cost)
    d. To accept full responsibility for any loss, damage injury, or other claim or expense whatsoever which the Hirer or any other person may suffer or incur causes directly or indirectly by the hired equipment, its use, its failure, its breaking down, or its non delivery as stipulated for or any other manner whatsoever.
    e. To accept full responsibility for and to fully compensate the owner for the value of the fired equipment or parts thereof which may be lost, stolen or damaged from the time of commencement of hire or delivery (whichever is earlier) until the hired equipment has been returned to the Owner in accordance with this contract or (in default) collected by the Owner (whichever is later).
    f. To immediately report any theft of or from the hired equipment to the Police and to supply the Owner with the complaint acknowledgement form.
    g. To reimburse Peter M May Ltd their $500 insurance excess for damage and $1000 insurance excess for theft.
    h. Should the Hirer default in the observance or performance of any of the above terms the Owner without having to give prior notice, terminate the hiring and retake possession of the hired equipment. The Hirer hereby authorises the Owner and/or its agents to enter upon any premises occupied by the Hirer, or where the hired equipment may be (in doing so acting as the Hirer’s authorised agents), to search for and recover the hired equipment and the Hirer hereby agrees to fully indemnify the Owner against any costs, claims, damages or expenses made against or incurred by the Owner in respect of any such entering and recovering of possession or any attempt to do so.
    i. A non-refundable deposit is required (minimum of 20%) Payment is due seven days before hire of the equipment. A $500 refundable bond/damage deposit is required withthe payment of your hire balance. This deposit will be refunded when all hire products have been returned and checked for damage.
  3. j. Cancellation Policy. When you book equipment it means that we cannot hire the items to another customer. Therefore, cancellations affect us greatly and we do apply cancellation charges. If we are able to rehire we will give a refund (less deposit), but if the goods cannot be rehired, payment in full is required.
